It has been a long time since I posted on here for various reasons. First I started to not care about much in the game and was really bored with everything. Second I tried to quit the game and was gone for 2-3 weeks, and I'm still not as active as I have been in the past. I was losing too much sleep over this game and my life was suffering because of it. Anyway I'm back and here to update the world on things that have happened since my last post.

Salvage upgrades.

Baby got a few pieces that I took SS of.





Also we got this.



Which led to Nax upgrading Morrigan's Pigaches and Deslock upgrading Ares's leggings. I don't have pictures of them though :x

We also got Namie a Demios Cuirass and Birkin an Enlil Gambison.

Shit I got.

This happened a while ago but.



Hurray.

This happened the other day and might be the luckiest thing ever.



Took maybe an hour tops to pop and kill Ix'drk duo.....once. Vice obtained, if only it did that everytime. Anyway!



I still need to get my merciful cape, which I'll probably solo, but this is a huge piece towards my RDM completeness.

Other Stuff!

Oh hey its about Kazuko again. Since the last time I brought them up they have gotten 2 relics. Can anyone guess who got them? Cloude and Janeru? ALMOST....I guess something happened to Cloude and Janeru IRL...like they broke up and well Janeru is just a mule now I guess. So yeah Cloude's real dick sucker got the second relic after his own. Cloude got Aegis and Obiwand got Ghorn. You'd think those 2 amazing relics would make that LS better. Well you'd also be wrong. Only difference now is that Cloude dies slightly less often. Still takes them 4 hours to kill Tiamat...9 hours to kill Ixion. Also Aegis was broken in an update and was blocking stuff for like 3 dmg like 90% of the time. Anyway I watched Cloude tank Ixion in that condition and..........

Thats right. 6 upgrades. 6....upgrades.

Lets start with a chariot drop.



Exactly what we needed. Nice because we won't have to do LAC for a while now. Still needed the 2 15s for the completion though. So we split up into two groups of 4 to do it the same day. Thanks to Oress and Drod for Dc'ing for us we got it done.

So those were nice but LBC also put out Zihn's 25 mask.





Saving the best for last of course...we got this.



Pretty exciting because it is our most wanted piece in the group and now we need 1 less!





So yeah 6 upgrades. Pretty nice couple weeks for us. Arrapago continues to be nice to us too. Got this.

Linkshell Drama!

First off lets talk about Godaime. I thought I said some controversial stuff on here at times, but really after reading Godaime's blog I think everything I wrote was pretty tame. The whole blog seemed to be aimed at making fun of LS members and talking about how much she hated people in the LS. Funny thing about it though....she is one of the worst players in AV...when she was in it at least. She was kicked due to this blog, which in my opinion was a bit harsh. A blog shouldn't be anything to be kicked over, but really she deserved the kickage from her lack of skill on whm...or really any of her jobs. The real damning thing she said was that she was glad Domoarigato got hacked, and then Domo kicked her. This ended up being pretty ironic because well...

Domo, Lanstarr, and Pawky (and maybe Hulktified?) left the LS to make a "merc LS." Basically to fund their relics. Their aim was to take enough core members from AV that we would break and they could dominate the server with a low man LS. Pretty sure Genosync is behind it as well. Funny thing about this is when I used to low man Byakko with Pawky, I asked if we should bring Lanstarr one time because he could 2 box and we wouldn't need another person. He said he'd rather have a lower split than ask Lan because he was the worst tank he'd ever seen and would not trust doing anything with him that required skill. When I heard that they left to make this LS together it really made me laugh.

Between Domo and Lan we lost 2 Ebodys, 1 dalmy (on a mule which was BS to begin with), 1 wbody, 1 shadow ring, 1 mbody, 1 valor surcoat, 1 duelist chapeau, and other various things that could have gone to people that respected the LS's commitment to gear these people. However we also lost 3 people who were only out for themselves and could care less about gearing the people who helped get them their gear. I probably wouldn't even be so mad about it though if their intent wasn't to break AV. To be honest I had talked about a low man LS with Pawky before. I still think its the best way to do things in this game. Nine Inch Ninjas on the Bismarck server are really the ideal LS in my opinion

The difference between me and them though is that I would never wish the LS that me and my friends helped build and bring into fruition would break. Even if I leave the LS I would want them to continue to do well and prosper. Part of the reason why I believe they did this though is that Belkin has said that he is quitting when he goes to school. This may or may not still be the case but I think they were taking intiative instead of seeing if the LS would die out after that happened.

This leads me to my most controversial belief lol. Part of me wonders if Domo and Hulk didn't fake their own hackings. Someone planted it in my head and I believe that there are certain things that were pretty weird about the whole situation. First off no one knew how they got hacked. Rumor started floating around that they shared their info through the forum, which is the dumbest thing you could do . I mean our forum is not very safe and people have hacked it before. I just thought that Domo and Hulk were smarter than that. Just seems weird to me that with all the account hacking that has been going on that they would do something that stupid.

Another weird thing....is how as soon as they got their characters back...oddly around the 3rd of the month, they cashed out (at least Domo did....no one is sure what hulk is doing I guess) and left. Just imagine doubling all their sellable gear too....that is a whole lot of money and it was no secret that Domo was making a relic. (Supposedly RAGNAROCK ROFLS) Even after all that...and one more thing that Pawky said to me that I didn't pursue farther I still don't really believe it, but its just something I think about once in a while.

Also there was the fact that it wasn't RMT that hacked them, and they named the mule Lcor...Rocl backwards...presumably to make people think that BG had something to do with it? One last thing is was that there was very little communication during the time they were out of the game. No one I asked really knew their status and they didn't post on the forums. Then Domo gives the reason that no one cared that they were hacked? Maybe we did you just weren't communicating to us what was going on.

Anyway after all that AV doesn't really miss those guys. Pawky never went to anything. Lanstarr was very annoying, was a loot whore, and generally sucks at the game. Domo is very skilled, very knowledgable, but also very arrogant and is only out for himself. He wasn't a good leader...one of the AV sackholders that was only a sackholder because he showed up a lot. The only thing it did was make people who weren't very active gain more LS pride and show up to more things. (People like me) I've gone to more the last week than normal, still not a lot though because salvage and work are very time consuming. My sleep schedule is so messed up I usually fall asleep during event time. We also have a couple very promising trials, one with 2 relics who was a leader of Demo on Kujata and garuda servers, and another ares/defending ring pld who also lead a LS on his previous server.

Last point is...these people are all following Pawky. The one thing about Pawky I feel is that I would never trust him to stay with a group of people for too long. He is always wanting to do his own thing and when he gets tired of something he simply won't do it anymore. Maybe he really is motivated to get Domo, Lan, and himself their relics but I doubt its gonna pan out how they think it will.

Didn't drop anything though and we had to leave the rampart to do LBC.

Congrats Zihn on 2/3 ares cuirass. Clerics obviously on robe, and ME  on 1/3 crown.

Thats really it for salvage...hopefully another update soon if lame RMTs stop buying up all the O ingots.

Other things I've been doing.



Lots of puddings! I like soloing on BLM because I can just go out and do it anytime and get decent exp. I've gotten good at it now so there isn't much chance of death anymore :D.

AV seems to be taking a break. I haven't been very active and have probably contributed to the low attendance and stuff but I do what I can. My work schedule sucks, and doing salvage everyday takes up a lot of my time. Other than that I really don't see me ever getting items in AV again. Call me loot whorish or w/e but my friends have mostly gotten what they wanted and I don't necessarily like a lot of the newer members so I don't really like farming for people I don't like. I think AV leadership doesn't realize that older members get turned off when we add a bunch of people. I remember defending us for not being a zerg LS, but guess what thats exactly what I feel like we are becoming. Killing tiamat without our ghorn is now like watching kazoku kill tiamat. I guess not that bad...maybe sisteforsok is a better example.

Doesn't help that two of our leaders got hacked though, and Belkin is quitting (taking a break officially but I don't think he'll be back at least for a while.) Our only leader with any sort of leadership quality atm is Drod and he isn't playing non stop like usual. Another demoralizing aspect about AV is the mule camping policy. People who RMT characters or have other people give them characters have an extreme advantage in the LS. They just leave their mule afk in a zone for a few hours. Check randomly when they can because they are exping on main and get so many more points than the other people. When I've camped tiamat with mules they are hardly ever there on windows. Its really just absurd at this point. We basically are farming HNMs for a select few. Anyway I'm just ranting.

Salvage

Salvage is still going great. We had one bad run in zhayolm that lowered moral a bit, but frog chorus spam can do that to anyone. Did a couple arrapago remnants in a row. First one was not the best run, but we did alright. Didn't even make it to the boss on time. However the run did reward us with this!



Another triple drop.....I mean double drop lol. Its as good as a triple drop though as marduk hands would probably have been trashed anyway. Congratulations Babyvox on 2/3 skadi feet (missing 15 which she won't get for a while) and congratulations Kaiten on Hikazu Hakama and 4/5 Hikazu!



Yes that is all Hikazu except the body....
Our next run was Arrapago again, because I felt we hadn't reached our potential the last run. Anyway we did a lot better and got this.



We passed it so quick I couldn't get it a screenshot in the loot pool but this works. Congratulations Zihn!

We beat the boss too...which dropped Skadi legs and marduk body 25, neither of which we needed. I think Zihn took them both, but the body was going to be passed to the ground.

Other things!

Anyway I got something too this week. I forgot to take a SS just like when I got my Duelist's chapeau though...but here it is!

Date: 2008-07-19 03:09 Subject: Salvage Upgrade #11 Security: Public

We did Bhaflau remnants yesterday in order to do our first LBC. We need basically every drop from this boss, unlike most others so it was our choice for our first fully dedicated boss run. Mad bomber was not up for the first time for us so we sped our way throuh the first 3 floors in record time. We got to the gears with probably about an hour left. 10/10 gears later and even killing the chariot on the floor, we still had 37 min left. So we decided to do the 4th floor rampart.



Sadly no NMs popped, but it was nice to at least try this rampart after it was the subject of much debate in my last group. We left with 20 minutes left and it at about 25% as we knew nothing would pop and we needed to make sure we had time for LBC.

LBC fully debuffed is a joke. We actually kinda made the fight harder than it needed to be though. We had 3 revitalizers, 2 body boosts, and 2 mana boosts, so we pretty much zerged the hell out of it. No STR stat cells slowed down the kill, but even with all that MP me and namie were just about out at the end. Two ridill 2hr drk zergs will do that though. Anyway we got mediocre drops.



Hate seeing marduk hands from LBC. Its really the only totally useless drop, but it made Zihn 2/3 for them lol. Babyvox got the 25 haidate and BAM.



Congrats Babyvox on the first piece of Usukane one of my groups have completed.





Also..don't think our 35 luck has changed at all. The day before we did a Zhayolm remnants. We need 3 morrigans feet from the 6th floor frog so we have been trying to go quite a bit. Anyway the 5th floor frog was charm happy...but dropped this.



Kaiten got these...and is 3/5 on Usukane 35s in about 2 weeks. No drop from the 6th floor frog, but its nice to see stuff drop anyway.

Date: 2008-07-16 04:27 Subject: Super Salvage Update Security: Public

Its been only 10 days since my last update and I have so much to show. I'm gonna do things in chronological order because thats the way it will make sense the most.

My last update was on 7/6 and later that night we did an arrapago remnants. It was our fourth run and our final of our tour around the zones. We killed all the NMs but the ghost fine...had some problems there. Killed the 5th floor astrologer and still no drops. Then we got the the mini chariot which drops 3 pieces of gear. This time it dropped marduk hands for us, which I didn't get a SS of because I didn't really care. It completed them for Clerics though if he ever chooses to upgrade them.

So then we attempted to pop the 6th floor Treasure hunters. It was going fine until the last few gears and clerics died pulling. I got aggro trying to save him and ended up dying too. Then Namie was the last mage standing and ended up dying as well. Our melee though somehow managed to kill the rest of the gears without dying and to my surprise the treasure hunters popped. We raised up and started fightting. This was the result!



Well this was our 4th 35 at this point....and third that went to clerics. Congrats!

We had some time off, then did a silver seas run to get Clerics the 15 for his robe since I hate doing that run and wanted to get it out of the way. Then did a few more silverseas. So of course we do hammerblow and.....



Bam 1/3 on him now with this group. Congrats Kaiten.

We then went ahead and beat the boss with 7 and were rewarded with!

Yay me!

Anyway we didn't actually get me them the same night as that boss. I still needed the 15, so off to Zhayolm Remnants we go the next night. We decide to do a full frog farm since Kaiten isn't there for the boss and his mask. I get my 15 and we move on to the 5th and 6th floor frogs. The 5th has been nice to us so far and grants us this!

Congrats Namie on Skadi Chausses!

So then the 6th floor frog gives us this.



Which again goes to Clerics. He got four 35s in a week that lucky guy.

The next day we decide to do an arrapago remnants because Zihn needs an ares body! We had a mess up on the first astrologer that caused it to warp. The rest of the run went smooth though, we got screwed on sub jobs so we couldn't fight the ghost for Zihn's mask, but we moved on. Killed everything as normal but then the chariot did something only spoken in legend.


The epic triple drop! Babyvox got the Usukane legs and Zihn got the skadi feet and lolmarduk hands.

That resulted in.

Salvage Upgrade #10




Then we went and killed the boss with 6 and got ourselves marduk body 25 and ares feet. Nothing special but it got Clerics 3/3 for marduk body after we popped his card NM today.

So then today we did bhaflau remnants. Mad bomber was up so we turned the run into another farming run. Sadly his rampart didn't pop any spiders. Second floor rampart was a bit nicer. 3 NMs and this.




2 Usukane feet 35s, which almost completes our group on this  Babyvox got the first one and Kaiten got the second one.

Thats about all I have for you. As if thats not enough. Here is to hoping our luck continues.

Date: 2008-07-06 20:25 Subject: Just When I Thought It Was Over Security: Public

FFXI is like heroine. Just when I felt like I was going to decline my playtime into retirement something happened to bring me back in.  This time it was reviving my interest in salvage. Obviously this is my favorite thing in FFXI and well I started up a group again with some old friends. I didn't invite all the people from my old group...but it was mainly because I am doing this regardless of AV's activities outside scheduled events.

With that said, here is a picture from our first run.

I got more 35s in this group already in 1 run than all of the time in my other group. Amazing lol.

Anyway we went twice more since then and got a 35 marduk body for Clerics....we'll see if he actually upgrades it though. 2/3 on 35s so far in this group and its been fun.

Other than that been doing some various things in FFXI...I got my bard to 10 and am planning on getting it to 75 next just for its endless usefulness. Killed some troll NMs...SEEN HERE!



Made some money off them and had some fun as well. Thats all I got for today....BYE!!!!

So I haven't updated in about a month. Been up to a lot so here it is.

First off my blm is 75.



What I like about having BLM and RDm at 75 is both jobs use mostly the same gear so changing is quick. Nothing else to say except that was the most painful job I've leveled to 75 besides maybe Monk as my first 75 back when 4k an hour was good exp.

Next up I got sea.



Hurray....along with sea comes earrings.



Not SO gimp anymore.

LS wise we've been up to a lot. BIggest news is Dark Ixion. Probably the most annoying fight in the game. Hard to wipe completely to it...but it kills people pretty easily. LoP copied our strategy and kills it regularly now too. Drops are mostly crap but oh well.



We've also got some Sandworm/NM kills under our belt. We've killed KA three times, and Guivre once.


As we venture inside.....to get this!



First 2 KA kills gave us these identical drops. I got the shield on the second one...and sold it for 350k because its complete crap.

Other than that we've been up to the usual Tiamat, Cerb, Khim killing.





We've gotten nothing from Khim in a long time. Lanstarr got gaiters for his mule though. :D

Date: 2008-05-16 20:52 Subject: Elite Einherjar?! Security: Public

So Apkallu Vendetta became the first LS on Bahamut to defeat Odin. Its nice to be the first on the server...but LS's on other servers have fought him 4 times already so I don't know how great the accomplishment really is.  Anyway, it was a fun and pretty cool fight. Here is a picture of my view of the fight.



As you can see he is huge lol. We took him down in about 25 minutes, and he dropped this.



Not the best drops. Hofud is nice, and pbody is decent. The best part about this loot pool however was!



2/5 to me! I had joked previously that my zenith mitts would drop off Odin, and Crimson scale mail is my first ever king body so I'm pretty happy to have it.

So after that I decided to try my luck by going to pop Charybdis duo with Pawky. After about 2 hours it popped and we started duoing it. Eventually Vitrice and Jaril came to help, although we could have duo'ed it pretty easily. It went down pretty fast with a BLM though which was nice. So then!



So after a day of work I got 3 new items!






In Other News

We fought Khim a few times...got a Hauteclaire and a Seveneyes.

We got King Behemoth minutes later and got a Crimson mask for Pawky and a Pixie earring for Malak.

Yay me. Finally got my robe complete and I'm really happy its done.

I'd like to thank my salvage group, and Pawky for this great accomplishment.


Well we continued to farm some LBC and also completed Tryon's mask!



Its use is limited, but at least Tryon has a gear setup for it.

More Gear!

So AV has cleared every wing of einherjar. I'm ready to fight Odin, but more importantly I got this beauty.



Its really a nice ring. I'm going to full time it for everything because I can't see a situation in which I wouldn't want 3 magic acc over 2 int/mnd. Odin fight should be coming up within the month, just gotta clear tier 3 a few more times for some slackers.

I've been low manning sky lately and got this from a 10-11 man Seiryu.



That combined with clearing Divine might gives me the next tier of bio after i got this earring.



I have to say I'm doing pretty well for myself!

My group did a few more LBC's too. 2 Kills netted us 3 Skadi feet 25s and a marduk hands 25. Well...now I can do this.



That's my storage! Will eventually be nice for my bard but that is a long way off. Too bad no one who could use better was there to lot those 35s.


Low Man Salvage

Me, Pawky and Babyvox are still low manning salvage. We added Daugue into the fold regularly on Corsair which makes the chariot pretty simple. We have killed the Soulflayer NM once for Morrigans head but no drop. However we did get this recently!



This went to Daugue so congrats to him!

Salvage

So we did arrapago again low man. This time we brought Daugue on corsair to lot on deimos if it dropped and to help out a bit with roles. Anyway we went 0/4 on the QQN's but still had 30ish min left. We went for the chariot because it was the only thing left. I wanted to kill it just to say we could, and Baby and Daugue want Usukane pants. So we did it....and!



Lol....I got another 35. Went from 0 to 2 in two low man runs. Not that I wanted them but kinda cool to have.

Date: 2008-04-09 12:35 Subject: Coats and Cuisses! Security: Public

A lot has happened since the last time I updated, and I probably won't remember it all but here I go!

First off, the LS did our first Kirin in months....i think the last one was the beginning of December. Well I had been saving my points for crimson cuisses for a while, got unlucky in December when two did not drop from the ones we did, and now I was third in line if the people ahead of me wanted to spend a ton of points. Well the first Kirin we did dropped them and I won them for 779 points. This is the end result!




So nothing note worthy happened after that for a while so i didn't want to just update that. Then this happened.



Now this is our third abj. from einherjar and arguably our first useful one. The cool thing about it is that we had lost claim on Nidhogg earlier in the day and PM had gotten nlegs from him lol. Anyway....Baby sent me this tell right before we engaged the boss.



Her predictions continue to be dead on!

Anyway those nlegs turned into this:

So you might be thinking how can you top that!?!? The answer is with the most epic day ever!

I got home from work early on Tuesday April 8th 2008 and was going to level my blm up some when I found out that Aspid's day 6 window opened in an hour. So I went there instead and to make a long camping story short we got our third ever Aspid. He decided to be a bitch however and drop mfeet only. Crappy drop but it completed Daugue's Koenig set so I guess we can't complain sorta.

Well half an hour goes by and I learn that Tiamat will pop within the next 5 hours. As I am running out to the chasm she pops and we pull it. I make it up just in time and a smooth fight commences. All we got however was a wyrm horn and two lousy fire crystals. So we're all pretty happy we've claimed these NMs at this point but still upset that the drops have stunk. Then it was dynamis xarcabard time. Xarcabard has been unusually cruel to us lately. (Probably to make up for our 20ish rdm hats) Well that trend continued with Rng AF and three hundred pieces only. DL dropped BYNE only too.

So now we are totally frustrated with drops on this day but now its Fafnir time. It was day 3 and we all expected a Fafnir. We had claimed 2 nights in a row prior to this night so moral was high in those terms. ANYWAY, we claimed and killed it in 12 minutes. I wish i was in party for what was to follow but I'll just have to post the outcome.



The LS's first homegrown Ridill...amazing. The shitty drops were all worth our first ridill. Congrats to Tryon, you deserve this more than anyone.

Some might think that is where the story ends, but it does not.  About a week ago this happened.

2 LBCs and 2 identical drops. This one made me 2/3 for Morrigans robe and Belkin 2/3 (missing 15 w) for his Ares Cuirass. You might say who cares you didn't complete anything, and to that I will tell this next story :D.

Me and Baby were going to duo Arrapago remnants one day for macha's and diemos respectively. I had never done it before so I asked Pawky how to go about doing it and he offered to help. So we planned to go on days that neither our statics went. First time we went nothing dropped but it was fun and successful. We killed both treasure hunters and the 5th floor astrologer.  So then we thought...what better time to go then right after a Ridill drops. I bet you can guess the outcome by now.... (sorry huge pic)




I DID NOT EXPECT THAT!!! So I'm 3/3 Morrigan's robe, can't wait to get it! However as suspected I only have the gil for 1/12 of the ingots and have to come up with about 8m more. I figure its going to be a long road of ISNM's, ENM's, BCNM's, 1 KS99, and lots of 2 boxed farming with TH4 before I come up with the gil.

Kazoku

One last thing before I sign off. I can't believe people still follow Cloude in an LS. It is just amazing how much of a loot whore he is. I mean mfeet from Aspid for his 66 PLD when other 75 PLDs want it is one thing, but they claimed Nidhogg the other day and he brought it to a new level. First of watching Kaz kill Fafnir/Nidhogg is STILL painful. They gimped their way through this Nidhogg in 50 minutes....50 minutes...........10 minutes to rage..................a mob that has been in the game forever.........................they've killed it more than enough times to get better at it..................................................YET THEY STILL SUCK. Anyway the point is that Nidhogg was gracious to them and dropped an Ebody. The joke was immediately made on LS that Cloude was gonna get that Ebody. He was probably hoping for mbody for his pld (lol) but I guess Ebody was good enough to take for his LEVEL 75 BEASTMASTER. We lost claim on Nidhogg....but at least we know the drop was totally wasted to crappy player who thinks RMTing gear/character can get you and your LS skill too. I remember Tony used to brag to Sureal that he was the best tank on the server....the way his LS kills Nidhogg I'd say he is probably one of the worst tanks I've ever seen. Dying to Nidhogg can happen if you're unlucky....a bard or rdm (idk but it was Janeru) having hate near the end of the fight is rediculously bad. Hopefully they at least won't claim anymore!

We have finally figured out Zhayolm Remnants fully. Since the last time I have posted we have beaten the bos 3 times, the final time defeating him only 70 minutes after entering. We also did a farming run where we killed both the 5th and 6th floor frogs (which between the two drop all the 35s in the zone). Only thing we haven't tried is farming the 15s because we really haven't had a need. Arrapago remnants has also been mastered just about. We did one farming run where we popped and killed all 8 NMs in the zone that drop 35 pieces. the only way we can get better is to do that and then go on to kill the boss as well. Anyway we still need to farm the zhayolm boss for Daugue's mask because we are 0/3 on it. Should come in time!

Completing his Black Belt!!! What a day for him. Well in other news since I never mentioned it on here....A while ago we got an Aspid...and it dropped an egg lol.



Belkin got the wwwwwwwwwwwbody and Tryon received the egg to complete his black belt as well. Now my static has 2 black belts when it originally had 0. (Actually it had 2 at one point way back when, but one had a gjallarhorn)

Viltaru Progression

Well my black mage is coming along slowly as well as my ninja sub. I think the last time I mentioned my jobs though I probably didn't even have BLM to 37. Here are my job levels.



Blm has continued to be my focus, but I think I need to finally finish my ninja sub so I can farm some sky and maybe get the items I need from there low man. Really the only items I want are Alegs, Ahands, Whands, and Wlegs. I probably wouldn't uncurse Alegs, but it would be nice to have the option in the future when I might have a use for it. Ahands for my future blm and for nuking on Rdm. Whands is really almost necessary to get to the next tier of Bio on Rdm (since I won't be meriting it), which would make soloing take less time. Wlegs is my number one priority however and I bug Belkin constantly to do Kirins but its not working.

I have been meriting a bit too. There is this guy on named Noob who has been inviting me to merit quite often. He's a decently geared warrior, but seems to have made friends with all of BG in terms of merits so I always get at least a decent party when I go with him. He told me that he is waiting until he has all his sky gear and capped merits to apply to a HNMLS. I anticipate him going to BG first (and I think he'd get in) but I think I have made enough of an impression on him that he would consider AV. After all he has said more than once that I am the best meripo Rdm he has ever had.....and he merits a lot! Anyways, this is how I have distributed my merits so far.





Still no group 1 Rdm merits, and I still need to cap para 2 and elemental magic, but I'm making progress for not meriting a heck of a lot because my entire LS seems to have Rdm leveled.

Salvage
Sadly we haven't upgraded any pieces yet, but we have obtained a few 35 armors. Here they are.

Last nights impromptu Arrapago run gave us our second deimos cuirass.


Congratulations to Belkin on that.

A few weeks early we did a Silver Seas run with the objective of farming some cards, so in turn we could do the 6th floor frog in zhayolm remnants. The run yeilded 0 cards, but we did get this.


Obviously congratulations to Daugue on a future Usukane Somen.

That run ended up being sort of frustrating however. On the third floor gear NM this happened.



We ran out of time...lost an extremely rare piece. Looking back I should have quartermastered the drop and we might have gotten it. What happened is it spammed restoral and took 5 min to kill. I feel bad for Oress because he would have gotten it, but I guess there is nothing we could have done. It was a semi successful run, even though we did horrible throughout. It was our first time farming silver seas remnants so we had a lot to learn.

Other Shit

Not much has been going on other than salvage. Our relic bard quit...I have merited a little bit, and my blm is now 44. We got a Tiamat handed to us again from LoP. Gaiters dropped and our guy who had over 1000 points got them. People were angry about that, but those people are pretty dumb anyway. Thats all!

I forgot to get a Screen shot of the drops from LBC, so you'lll just have to believe me that we got a Phobos's Cuirass and a Bodb's Robe from our first LBC. Sadly we lost the Bodb's Robe to time out, but the Phobos's Cuirass was sorted JUST in time. We killed LBC after the 30 second warning mark, and frantically I told everyone to pass once I saw the drops. It went to the right guy and now we have upgraded our second piece and first body piece.

Jailer of Love

I thought I took a picture of this and I don't. Just imagine a big UFO in sea being killed for a few hours. It was long, we probably needed another whm or 2 but we prevailed because he is easy. Anyway it was our fourth or fifth love and all we had gotten prior was a novia earring. He finally put out something good and guess who got it!





One day after completing Skadi Chausses, Babyvox's thief gets even better with a Love Torque to replace that gimpy peacock amulet. Her tp setup is complete basically, only missing Homam gloves for the accuracy over dusks attack, and a mandau. Who knows we may even see a mandau in her future.

Tiamat

A Tiamat that doesn't drop gaiters usually isn't update worthy, but this one was truly given to us as a christmas gift. LoP was killing it when i signed on and apparently they were doing fine with ~14. ANYWAY, this led to that which eventually led to a wind elemental aggroing them at 1% which then led to the most amazing moment ever. CFH Tiamat at 1%. I've seen Siste wipe at 1% and then Government kill with 1-2 nukes, but this was even better because LoP was nice and didn't kill it. They just left and let it be. So we swooped in for the kill. Sadly it was in rage mode from low HP the entire fight, so the start was a little shaky. We got it under control once they got me in to stun of course! We then made short work of it and even got people in for the title this time. We got a Wyrm Horn and Damascus ingot and I didn't take any pics. Here is one of the fight though.

Where We Go From Here

Our next step is Bhalflau Remnants and the notorious LBC. The basic goal is to complete Tryon's Ares body, as all he needs is the 25 piece. LBC however also drops the 25 for my morrigans robe and usukane pants, which is pretty highly wanted. Our focus will be LBC for the next few weeks with some farming runs strewn in there for good measure. My ideal goal in bhaflau remnants would be to be able to do the first, second or fourth floor ramparts while defeating the boss as well. I know that will definitely take some work though so we will be going straight for the boss as we start the area.

WotG

I got the expansion shortly after my last update. So far it has offered me little. Gobbie bag items are still more expensive than I would like, and the 2 new jobs don't interest me. Scholar looks horrible, but will probably be tweaked and definitely has potential. Dancer seems like a good job, but their reliance on TP will most likely hinder their ability to succeed in end game situations. They could work well in merit parties and dynamis however. Dancer will also most likely be changed before too long though so we will have to wait and see how good they turn out.

I did go to the past, get 5 portal things and finish all the missions released so far. It was a lot of running and the missions were dumb, but what can you expect I guess. People say campaign is fun, but I have yet to try it. I guess I feel I don't have time to figure out how it works just to get a buffer.

An anticipated side effect of the expansion was maintenance's, and we sure have had a lot of those. They all basically kicked HNMs into JP time every time they occurred. Luckily however, half the servers shut down one night and they had to do emergency maintenance. This happened to put all the HNMs right into our time. We ended up getting Khim, Cerb, and Tiamat along with 2 Fafnirs before maintenance hit again and reset the timers to JP time. All we got from those NMs were an algol, zenith mitts, hecatomb cap, and 2 PLD hats. I got pics of Khim!






Salvage

So my salvage group has been a little iffy lately, but we got a huge boost our last run. A little back story first. We got Tryon's deimos cuirass and decided to go get his 15 piece one night because we were short on people and didn't want to go for the arrapago boss again. We were doing good, but on the first floor we made a slight mistake that we weren't ready for and ended up wiping. Moral was a bit low at that point. Then the next run we went for the boss in arrapago with 7. Our setup was 2x mnk, nin, rdm, brd, whm, thf. I thought we were good for the boss, however we wiped pretty horribly (68%).

I think the reasons were: a) No shell, this made the AoE's more potent and require more healing. b) Brd died early to AoE and tanks didn't have songs on them much when they needed it. c) We had 3 melee on it on our first try causing more tp spam than we were ready for. I knew the strategy (standard BG forum/wiki strat) and we really did fine except what I mentioned. Eventually we couldn't keep up with the healing though without ballad and with the tp spam that happened. So I was talking to Belkin, who I consider one of the best leaders on the server, and was asking for advice since as a RDM I didn't know if it was hard to tank or what really went so wrong. I also know I am not the best leader, I have tried to make due with this group but getting people to go and everything was tough and if people missed a few runs I wouldn't even ask them again.

So I jokingly asked Belkin to come and help us next time and he agreed which I didn't expect at all. Anyways I had already made some adjustments that I was planning on using before even talking to Belkin. Mainly it was to switch the ninja to corsair and use monks roll, and to actually cast protect and shell this time. This along with our bard being careful not to get AoE'ed at all I felt would make the difference in the fight.

Well anyway at the last minute we recruited 2 more people. They were 2 people I was going to ask, however one was still a trial for LS so I was reluctant to do so. Then we went and everything went so smooth. I really think Shell 4 just about halves the damage from the AoE's discharge and inertia stream. Monks roll made them occur at about half the rate as well. We also had a mini-gjallarhorn this time so we were over-prepared. We didn't get Babyvox's level 25 pants but did get 2 pieces people wanted. I  felt like I could have main cured the second fight by myself. We didn't even have all the cells we wanted when we engaged. (I didn't have a SJ) Well all that matters is that I am much more confident that my group will succeed in the long run.

I'm in a bit of a dilemma as far as morrigans robe goes. I will be the first to get in my group, but I have no money, and no source of income to ever get ~8mil. I guess I shouldn't worry about it because its still a long way off, but I am definitely thinking of how I would try to get the money if a Macha's coat does indeed drop.

Congrats Tryon!

Short story on this NM...We were killing it fine and at 20% it gets sleepga off. Hit everyone but Oress on BLM. His initial reaction must have been to cure someone but he didn't have his sub job. So we're all like nuke nuke....Thunder 4 gets it down to 1%. I'm like drain it and some one said bio it. He casts bio 2 and it suddenly goes unclaimed for some reason. We're all panicing asleep and stuff and then oress starts to cast drain, the astrologer starts to cast warp. It looked like it warped out but the drain must have gone off before, which was incredible enough, but then we got the drop as well. Incredible!

Anyways we are still struggling to make it to the boss, but finally got some 6th floor experience. Our plan was to pop the 6th floor QQTHs but we ended up getting too much aggro and dying. Mainly my fault because while farming I forgot to detour to get our monks magic and that didn't work out. Then I had no idea about the 6th floor (mainly where we port up to), so the mages aggro'ed a bunch of mobs and we couldn't sleep them all.  Now we have 2 pieces to upgrade though, but I know that we can make it to the Bhaflau boss much easier, its just a matter of dealing with the gears to weaken it. We also have 2+ Zhayolm cards to get the 15 for Tryon so that won't be a big deal.

Hopefully we complete an armor piece soon!
